Communion Practice
When HOLY COMMUNION is celebrated in the Worship Service it is in the confession and confidence that we receive into our mouths not only bread and wine but Christ’s very body and blood to eat and to drink for the forgiveness of sins and to strengthen our union with Him and with one another. For more information concerning practice and belief, please read the back of the attendance card.

Fellowship Hall Flooring
A floor covering account is established for those who are moved to contribute towards addressing issues associated with the fellowship hall floor. The carpet was installed in 1986 when the old sanctuary was repurposed as the fellowship hall. We have not made a decision on form the new floor covering will take (replacing carpet or something else). Donated funds are accepted as check or through shalimar.church/give.

LCMS responds to SCOTUS decision on ‘Dobbs v. Jackson’
On June 24, 2022, the U.S. Supreme Court issued a ruling on Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. The court overturned Roe v. Wade by asserting that the Constitution does not confer a right to abortion and returned the issue to the states.
The people of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) have always advocated for the value of human life, which is made in the image of God. Thus, the church rejoices in this ruling while also praying for those who are hurting and afraid.
For more information on the Synod’s response, read:
• A statement from LCMS President Rev. Dr. Matthew C. Harrison;
• A statement from LCMS Life Ministry; and
• A joint letter to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland from Harrison and the presidents of the WELS and ELS regarding increased violence against churches, pregnancy resource centers and pro-life organizations.
