It is common practice for us to pray with and for individuals.

Prayer in and of itself has no power. Only God has the power to grant prayers. He loves and invites us to speak to Him confidently and without fear for He is personal and approachable. God has said that he hears our prayers and answers in His own way and at His own time. (Isaiah 65:24, 2Corinthians 12:8-9).
